Rarely is damp diagnosis that simple, but unfortunately you will often see some damp experts claim that it is. This is because they have limited surveying equipment, and limited experience. See this video for example you will see how I go about my survey to find the root cause along with gravimetric analysis following BRE DIGEST 245. Surely you would think an averagely competent damp expert would think why this building all of a sudden have damp issues. Drains are the number 1 cause of rising damp issues, but rarely get inspected.
